What is IPL?
IPL is a light-based hair removal method that targets the melanin (pigment) inside the hair, disrupting the hair growth cycle and preventing it from growing back, without damaging the skin.
How does it work?
IPL technology works by delivering pulses of light through the skin's surface, which are absorbed by the melanin in the hair shaft. This absorbed light is converted into heat beneath the skin, directly affecting the hair follicles and preventing them from continuing their growth cycle. Over time, the treated hair weakens and falls out naturally, which can happen over a period of a few days to two weeks, depending on the individual. For best results, it is recommended to perform the treatment once a week for eight consecutive weeks, allowing the hairs to be targeted at their different growth stages. With consistent application, IPL devices can offer visible hair reduction and long-lasting hair removal results.
IPL hair removal is a popular, well-researched, safe, and effective long-term hair removal option. It is safe for home use and for the skin. That said, we still recommend that users wear their glasses and read the precautions before starting treatment.
How to use your IPL device step by step?
Discover how easy it is to get professional results at home with your IPL hair removal device.
Just follow these 5 simple steps:
1. Prepare your skin
Before you begin, shave the area to be treated. The skin should be clean, dry, and free of creams or deodorant. This helps the light reach the follicle directly and prevents the hair surface from burning.
2. Connect and turn on the device
Plug in your IPL device and press the power button. Wait a few seconds for the indicators to light up. Adjust the intensity level according to your skin type (we recommend starting at the lowest level if it's your first time).
3. Place the head on the skin
Rest the head completely in contact with the skin until the contact sensor detects the surface. When the light indicator is ready, press the trigger button to emit the light pulse.
4. Slide and repeat
Slide the device gently to the next area and repeat the process. Avoid going over the same spot twice.
You can use manual mode for small areas (underarms, bikini) or automatic mode for large areas (legs, arms).
5. Take care of your skin afterward
Apply a moisturizer or aloe vera to soothe the skin and keep it soft.
Avoid direct sun exposure for the next 24 hours and use sunscreen if you are going outside.
Tip: Use your device once a week for 8 weeks to get visible hair reduction. Then, perform maintenance sessions once a month.
